More than 68.2 Million Americans Inactive in 2011 The number of inactive persons in the U.S. increased to 68.2 million in 2011 from 67.2 million in 2010, according to a new study released by the Physical Activity Council (PAC), a partnership of six major trade associations in the sports, fitness, and leisure industries.
More than 69 Million Americans Considered 'Couch Potatoes' According to a recently completed study, more than 60
million people in the U.S. are totally inactive, according to a recent study by the Physical Activity Council
(PAC). That’s one of the key findings of the Physical Activity Council which analyzes overall participation
in sports, fitness, and recreational endeavors.
2011 Physical Activity Council Report Now AvailableThe 2011 Physical Activity Council sports participation study is available for free download at PhysicalActivityCouncil.com. The annual "Play Report" measures participation in 119 different sports and activities and is produced by a partnership of seven of the major governing bodies and trade associations in U.S. sports and leisure.
